Newborn FAQs

Q: When should I book my newborn session?

You can schedule a tentative date for your session (usually 7 days after your due date). If you deliver early or later, please let me know via e-mail or phone and we can re-schedule your session.

Q: How long does the newborn session take?

An average newborn session is about 2 hours, however it can take less or more than 2 hours depending on your new baby. Some newborns sleep through the entire session and finish earlier. Some newborns become hungry during sessions and we stop for a feeding. We all know that with a newborn we are on their schedule.

Q: When should newborn photos be taken?

The best time to capture your new baby is within the first 7 – 10 days of life.

Q: Where will our shoot take place?

The shoot will take place at my photography studio in the NW. Our studio has lots of natural light, rustic hardwood floors, and a variety of backdrop and props to choose from.

Q: Do you provide outfits and props?

Yes we have a great selection of cute outfits imported from South Korea that you can choose from. We also have a variety of cute knits and hats for babies.

Q: How can I make sure baby is comfortable and cooperative during the shoot?

We ask parents to make sure baby is well fed and changed before their session. This way they’re nice and sleepy during the session.

Q: What do we need to bring to our session at your home studio?

Just bring yourselves and your beautiful newborn. Pack your diaper bag as you normally would. You are also more than welcome to bring special items of your own if you would like to include them in the photos.

Q: Can we include siblings and other family members into some of the photos?

Absolutely! We keep these photos to a small amount of shots only because we have lots to accomplish during your newborn session.
